Vermont State Amateur: Bryan Smith holds lead

BURLINGTON, Vt. (July 9, 2014) -- Bryan Smith shot a second-round 69 and jumped out to a five-shot lead at the 2014 Vermont State Amateur at Burlington Country Club. Smith followed his first-round 70 with a 2-under 69 Wednesday and holds a five-shot advantage over defending champion Evan Russell and Drake Hull. Eric Lajeunesse (71-74) is alone in fourth place entering the final round of play.
