U.S. Amateur: "Seinfeld" and other pairings which caught our eye

The USGA often has made a habit of trying to get creative when it comes to early round tee-times in its championships. Past winners of USGA events are frequently paired together, but sometimes officials push the envelope a bit.

The groupings for the stroke play portion of the 122nd playing of the U.S. Amateur were not different. Pairings of former USGA champions, top-ranked amateurs, worldwide winners, and a ‘Seinfeld’ namesake golf trio are just some of the groupings which caught our eye.

"Seinfield"? The popular sitcom featured plenty of golf references during its run and a committee member in Far Hills is clearly a fan, as Mark Costanza, Hazen Newman and Campbell Kremer will be grouped for the first two rounds of stroke play.

So far, there is no sign of Stan the Caddie.
