Three amateurs make the cut at the Amundi Evian Championship

Rose Zhang, Anna Davis and Rachel Heck through to the weekend in Évian-les-Bains

Three of the top female amateurs in the world will be playing the weekend after making the cut at the Amundi Evian Championship, the penultimate women's major championship of the season. Two-time USGA champion and top-ranked female amateur in the world Rose Zhang (70-68-138; -4), Anna Davis (70-69-139; -3), reigning ANWA champion and the top player in the AJGA rankings, and Zhang's Stanford teammate, Rachel Heck (70-71-141), ranked fourth in the world by WAGR, finished inside the cutline which came at even par.

Just missing the cut was recent Stanford graduate Aline Krauter, the 2020 British Women's Amateur champion, who finished at 1-over after rounds of 73-70.

Other amateurs in the field who did not make the cut include Women's Latin America Amateur champion Valery Plata (76-71-147; +5) of Michigan State, defending U.S. Women's Amateur champion Jensen Castle (74-74-148; +6) of Kentucky, Women's Asia Pacific Amateur champion Mizuki Hashimoto (74-75-149; +7) of Japan, Italy's Benedetta Moresco (74-76-152; +10) who plays collegiately at Alabama, and current British Women's Amateur champion Jess Baker (74-77-151; +9) of England.

Brooke Henderson, who carded a pair of 64s in the first two rounds, leads the tournament at 14-under, followed by Nelly Korda (-11).
