CHAMPIONSHIP
In the Championship flight, two of the four
semi-
finalists are from Santa Teresa, making their
coach,
Terry Sullivan,
PGA (who we have to thank for his
Facebook
post) very proud. Justin Suh will
play in next Saturday's Semi-final match, after a
hard fought 1 up victory over Michael
Tolladay. Thomas Hutchison
will
also moved on, after a 5&3 win over Sean
Etow.
Suh will face off against Tommy Semereaux (a 2-up winner over Ryan Knop) in one match, and Hutchison will face Bryan Baumgarten (who def. Gabriel Armendariz 6&5) in the other semi-final. View all 2015 San Francisco City Men's Championship Results>
SENIOR DIVISION
In what must have been a tough battle,
Gary
Vanier took down number one seed Dale
Bouguennec
(the medalist) by the narrowest of margins, as
their
match went down to the 18th hole. Vanier will
face
another tough competitor, fellow Olympic Club
member Michael Staskus, in the first semi-final
match next weekend. Staskus won over Scott
Anderson, 2&1.
Defending champ Jim Williams won a nailbiter on the first hole of sudden-death against Ken Gosselin. He will play Mark Miller (def. Ralph Costanzo, 3&2) in the second semi-final match next weekend. View all 2015 San Francisco City Senior Results>
WOMEN'S DIVISION
Lucy Li is going to be the story once again (when isn't she?) as the 12-year old phenom -- who has already qualified for the USGA Women's Four Ball to be played at Bandon Dunes in May -- has made it to the semi-finals with a win over Belinda Hu. She will face Sara Banke in next Saturday's semi-final match, while Ty Akabane and Anna Zhou will face each other in the other semi-final match.
