Rice Planters: Fernandes extends lead with 67

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (June 19, 2014) -- Rigel Fernandes of the Unviversity of South Florida fired a 5-under 67 in Thursday's second round and extended his lead to five shots at the 2014 Rice Planter's Amateur at Snee Farm Country Club. Fernandes led Wednesday after opening with a 7-under 65 and added to that total with the day's low round in Round 2. It all adds up to a commanding lead entering the third of four rounds on Friday. Carter Page is second after rounds of 66-71 while Ryan Cole sits alone in third after shooting 70-68 over the course of the event's first two days.
