Rhode Island Amateur: Price holds early lead

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (July 7, 2014) -- Dr. George Price shot a 2-under 69 and leads all players during stroke-play qualifying at the 2014 Rhode Island Amateur at Montaup Country Club. In the 109th playing of the event, Price is a shot better than a group of four contenders entering the second round of the 36-hole match play. McKinley Slade, Ben Tuthill, Kevin Nery and recent state Public Links champion Rob Grossguth are all at 1-under 70 after the first round of play.
