Rhode Island Amateur: Metacomet finale to be played

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (July 15, 2011) -- It's a Metacomet Final at Potowomut. In the first semi-final match Steve Merluzzo made a 6 foot par putt to defeat Alex Stimpson and in the second match Brad Valois defeated Jonathan Bartlett. The 36 hole final match will begin at 7:30 on Saturday morning. Three former champions had advanced to the quarterfinals - Charlie Blanchard, Bobby Leopold and Brad Valois advance into the quarterfinal round. Also continuing on were Alex Stimpson, Jim Rose, Steve Merluzzo, Jonathan Bartlett and Jonathan Pannone.
