Rhode Island Amateur: Barrow, Pelletier lead

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (July 9, 2013) -- Play was suspended at 8:30 for darkness with two groups left on the course but the day was highlighted with a hole-in-one on 16 by Brian Donahue hitting a 7-iron 168 yards into the hole. Jason Barrow and Ryan Pelletier are Round 1 leaders in the house shooting 2-under par 70. Four players are one stroke back after shooting 1 under par 71 including Jim Colucci, John Drohen, Billy McDonald and 3-time Amateur champion Brad Valois. Three strokes off the lead is 13-year-old Patrick Welch who shot 1-over par 73. Round 2 will begin on Wednesday at 8:00 am with the possibility of a playoff for 32nd place around 7:00pm.
