FAR HILLS, N.J. - Entries are now being accepted for three of the USGA’s most prominent championships – the 2014 U.S. Open, 2014 U.S. Women’s Open and 2014 U.S. Senior Open – via a direct link on www.usga.org. The 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open will be contested in consecutive weeks this June at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (Course No. 2) in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. The U.S. Open is scheduled for June 12-15, with the U.S. Women’s Open June 19-22. It is the first time that the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open will be contested at the same venue in the same year. The U.S. Senior Open will be held at Oak Tree National in Edmond, Okla., July 10-13. Last year, the USGA accepted a record 9,860 entries for the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa., a championship won by Justin Rose, of England. The 2013 U.S. Women’s Open, won by Inbee Park, of Korea, at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., also set a record, with 1,420 entries. U.S. Open entries close on April 23 at 5 p.m. EDT. U.S. Women’s Open entries close a week later at 5 p.m., while U.S. Senior Open entries close on May 28 at 5 p.m. Entries for the USGA amateur national championships, including the inaugural U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, which debut in 2015, will be made available over the next several weeks on usga.org.
