Red-hot Evan Russell wins Vermont Amateur

BARRE, Vt. (Aug. 8, 2013) -- Evan Russell continued his winning ways with a four-stroke victory at the 2013 Vermont Amateur Championship at the Country Club of Barre. Russell, winner of the New England Amateur title earlier this summer, shot rounds of 69-68-71-71--279 and won by four shots over Bryan Smith. Smith (75-65-72-71--283) was the only other player in red figures. Eric Lajeunesse took third place at 9-over for the event.
