McCoy wins 2004 Crump Cup at Pine Valley

Pine Valley, NJ- (September 26, 2004) The George A. Crump Cup was played from Sept 23-26 at Pine Valley Golf Club. Michael McCoy defeated Jamie Slonis, 4 and 3, and captured the 82nd annual championship. McCoy, of Des Moines, Iowa, eliminated San Francisco's Randy Haag, 1 up, in the morning semifinals. Slonis advanced to the title match of the 16-player championship flight with a 1-up victory against Overbrook's Chris Lange in a 19-hole match. Jack Vardaman of Washington, D.C., took the Senior Division trophy with a 1-up win over Joseph Keller of Massachusetts, and Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania's David Brookreson prevailed in the Senior Second Flight.
