Maryland State Amateur: Hastings fights back

CHEVY CHASE, Md. (June 10, 2007)-- It took Brad Hastings eight years to regain the Maryland Amateur crown, but he did it in dramatic fashion, overcoming an early three-hole deficit to defeat former Middle Atlantic Amateur champion Richard Holland 2 & 1 in the 86th annual event. The 19th-seeded Hastings cruised to the final, while top-seeded Holland had a couple of tough outtings to start, going 2 & 1 over Sheedy and Pete DeTemple prior to the 36-hole championship.
