Limbhasut, Smith share first-round lead at California State Fair

Cal-Berkeley sophomore KK Limbhasut of Thailand and UC-Santa Barbara sophomore Zach Smith posted 67 on day one at Haggin Oaks

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cal-Berkeley sophomore KK Limbhasut of Thailand and UC-Santa Barbara sophomore Zach Smith of Pleasanton, Calif. posted 5-under par 67 on day one of the California State Fair Amateur Championship. The pair will enter day two of the tournament sharing a one-stroke lead over Taylor Bromley and Jordan Wright, while Jesse Yap and Bradley Knox are two back in a tie for fifth. Twenty-five players are under par through the first round, and another 12 are even and within five shots of the lead.
