Kentucky State Amateur Championship: Newcomb extends lead

LEXINGTON, KY (June 8, 2011) -- Patrick Newcomb didn't back down from the field or the golf course as he posted another sub-par round, a 3 under par 69, and will take his 137, a two shot lead, into tomorrow's final round of the 2011 Appalachian Wireless Kentucky State Amateur Championship. Trying to keep pace is Chris Morris at 139 and Dave Snyder is another 2 shots back at 141. The field was cut to the final round at scores of 152 or better, a total of 71 players.
