ST. SIMON'S ISLAND, GA (Feb. 2, 2007) -- The Jones Cup, a biennial event that
brings together the best amateurs from the U.S. and abroad for a 54-hole medal
play competition got underway today at Frederica Golf Club.
Kansas senior Gary Woodland rose above cold, windy weather, and the rest of the field, to post a nearly perfect round of 7-under-par 65 on the Walker Cup-preview event's new host course, Frederica Golf Club.
