Haley still leads at Porter Cup

Georgia Tech's Paul Haley is at 11-under par and leads by one after the third round

LEWISTON, N.Y. – Paul Haley and Patrick Rodgers remained atop the leaderboard at the Porter Cup, each firing 1-under 69 Friday at Niagara Falls Country Club. Haley, a recent Georgia Tech graduate, sits at 11 under through 54 holes and leads Rodgers, an incoming Stanford freshman, by one shot. A day after a steady round in which he made 14 pars, including 12 consecutively, Haley closed with another even-keel nine holes: making birdies at Nos. 10 and 11 and finishing with seven straight pars. Rodgers was similarly steady Friday, making 15 pars, two birdies and a lone bogey for his third sub-70 round of the week. Rodgers also finished runner-up at The Players Amateur and the Terra Cotta Invitational and third at the Azalea Invitational and Jones Cup this year. South Carolina rising senior Wesley Bryan made the biggest move of the day, jumping into a six-way tie for third with a third-round 63. After going out in 4-under 31, Bryan birdied the par-4 10th and eagled the par-5 11th, but made a bogey at No. 17. Also tied for third is NCAA champ John Peterson, Tim Hart, Ben Kohles, Tarquin MacManus and Cameron Wilson.
