Fowler, Thomas co-produce Season 2 of Driven for Golf Channel

In college golf, the concept of a documentary – ahem, docu-series – is a little bit new. But after last year’s debut of Driven, a four-part documentary series on the Golf Channel that gave a behind-the-scenes look at the golf rivalry between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, the show is back again. This time, the focus is on Alabama and Auburn’s “Iron Bowl” rivalry, but will also feature a closer look at Oklahoma State’s run at an NCAA title defense.

PGA Tour player Rickie Fowler, one of Oklahoma State’s most decorated players, returns as executive producer for Driven. Fellow Tour player Justin Thomas, a member of the 2013 Alabama national championship team, is partnering with Fowler as co-executive producer. Emmy Award-winning actor Josh Duhamel returns to narrate Driven’s second season.

“It has been a lot of fun partnering with Justin for season two of Driven, highlighting the Alabama-Auburn rivalry within the world of college golf and my alma mater as we look to defend our national championship,” said Fowler. “We have been bouncing ideas off each other throughout the year, and we’re excited for viewers to see the game’s future stars and their dedication to college golf.”

Leading up to Golf Channel’s coverage of the 2019 NCAA Championships, Driven is scheduled to air on three consecutive Mondays starting May 6, with the final installment premiering on NBC following the championships. Driven will feature exclusive footage from production crews embedded with Alabama, Auburn and Oklahoma State’s men’s golf programs over the course of the 2018-19 season, culminating in Fayetteville, Ark., where the 2019 national championship will take place.

In addition to the second season of Driven, Golf Channel is also airing a three-part College Golf 101 series counting down the top-10 most dominant college players (May 6); top college teams (May 13) and elite college programs of all-time (May 20). The series features interviews and insight from major champions and a wide range of college golf experts, including AmateurGolf.com’s own Julie Williams.
