Duncan Putter: 15-year-old leads by 3 shots

The performance of the day came from the youngest player - 15-year-old Tim Harry

NEWPORT, Wales (April 13, 2013) -- In very testing conditions the performance of the day came from the youngest player - 15-year-old Tim Harry of Vale Resort in South Wales. After shooting a sensational 2-under-par 68 in the morning he followed up with an equally impressive 1-under-par 57 for 15 holes in round 2. The weather had made it necessary to restrict play in the second round. It was obvious that it would not be possible to complete all 18 holes, and so an early decision was taken that all players would end their round on the 15th green. This proved to be the right decision as the light was just failing as the last group finished play. Tim takes a 3 shot lead into the final day when his playing partner will be the Irish golfer Shane Mcglynn from Carton House. With Alfie Plant, Ryan Pope, Jack Bush and Jerome Titlow the closest of a large and hungry following pack Tim will need all his skill to maintain his lead. Interest from Welsh golf followers will be intense. It promises to be a great day's golf tomorrow, so, whatever the weather, if you are able to do so, please join us at Southerndown.
