SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept 1, 2012) -- Defending champion Matt Hansen started off strong Saturday at the California State Fair Amateur at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. Hansen, after posting a 7-under 65, is tied with recent U.S. Amateur semi-finalist Brandon Hagy and Juan Gonzales at 7-under.
U.S. Amateur runner-up Michael Weaver posted 68 to stand three strokes back in the 54 hole event.
