GODFREY, Ill. (June 9, 2013) -- Bob Hanneken won the 10th East Side Amateur Sunday in a playoff with Eli Grant on Sunday afternoon at Lockhaven Golf Club. The two would complete 34 holes at 1-under par. Hanneken played in the final grouping on Sunday after his 2-under first round, Grant was one group ahead of Hanneken also after a 2-under round. Both would fire 1-over rounds on Sunday to find themselves in a playoff.
The playoff started at the 9th Hole at Lockhaven, after both players found the fairway from the tee, Hanneken would have a 12-foot birdie putt to put away the title. However, a 3-putt from that distance would extend the playoff. On to the 10th Hole, where Hanneken again put his approach shot tight and would two putt for the victory. Hanneken has been playing in numerous MAGA events over the years, but this is his first title.
On the senior side, Dr. Andy Frost finished on top to extend his lead in the Senior Player of the Year race.
