Bermuda Dunes, CA (Dec 5, 2004) Carlton Oaks CC champion Gerry Simoni fired a three-under-par 69 to capture the 30th SCGA Tournament of Club Champions Championship Flight at Bermuda Dunes CC. He edged Keith Kinsel by a shot. For Simoni, it was a long time between SCGA titles. He won the third Tournament of Club Champions at Oakmont CC in 1977 while a member at Canyon Crest. At Cimarron Golf Resort, an SCGA first occurred when five players tied for the championship of the President flight (2.5 to 7.9 handicaps). Miguel Acero of Pinoy Golfers of America, Greg Creamer of Recreation Players GC, Bryan Davis of Atom Club, Tim Henning of SEA GC and Ed Hontucan of Superior GC all finished with net 70s. Dennis Chance of Seniors Southbay GC won the Vice President Flight (8.0 and over handicaps) by three strokes with a net 64 at Desert Princess CC (Cielo/Lagos).
