The latest Pro V1x Left Dash builds on everything elite players love—high flight, low spin, and firm feel
Titleist has officially unveiled the next generation Pro V1x Left Dash, and for those of us who’ve been big fans of Left Dash going back to its earliest tour-only days, this one is especially exciting.
Available in golf shops worldwide beginning January 21, the new Pro V1x Left Dash (marked with –Pro V1x on the sidestamp) delivers longer distance, faster ball speed, and more consistent flight, all while staying true to the unique performance profile that made Left Dash a cult favorite among elite players.
Over four years in development, the ball reflects Titleist’s uncompromising R&D philosophy: no product gets released unless it’s meaningfully better.
“We won’t introduce a product just because it’s new,” said Mike Madson, Senior Vice President of Titleist Golf Ball R&D. “It has to be better, and it has to be validated by players.”

Originally introduced in 2018 as a Custom Performance Option (CPO), Pro V1x Left Dash was built for players chasing maximum ball speed and distance off the tee while still demanding control into and around the greens. Its pedigree speaks for itself:
Today, Pro V1x Left Dash sits alongside Pro V1 and Pro V1x as a full-fledged member of the Titleist family—designed for players who want Pro V1x-like height with dramatically lower long-game spin and a firmer feel.
And importantly, it’s already proven itself across professional golf, having been played in competition on the PGA TOUR, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, JGTO, PGA Tour Australasia, and PGA TOUR Champions since debuting on tour last October.
The latest Left Dash improves performance through every layer of the golf ball:
The result is a ball that flies strong, holds its line in the wind, and stays firmly within Left Dash’s low-spin DNA.
“If you’re a Dash player, you should be very excited,” Madson said. “We’ve taken everything that you love about it and just made it a little bit better. It’s faster, it’s longer, it’s more penetrating into the wind.”
While Pro V1 and Pro V1x are designed to fit the vast majority of golfers, Left Dash fills a very specific—and increasingly important—performance window:
According to Titleist, Left Dash is now the first-choice recommendation in roughly 6–8% of fittings conducted through its Golf Ball Fitting App—a meaningful number at the elite end of the game.
“When we started testing Left Dash with consumers, it became clear very quickly that a lot of golfers out there are looking for very low spin while maintaining a high flight, and Left Dash fit that need perfectly,” said Frederick Waddell, Titleist’s Director of Golf Ball Product Management.
One of the most compelling parts of the new Left Dash story is how close it came to going in the wrong direction.
During PGA TOUR testing in 2023, Titleist identified a prototype that felt great and produced strong speed—but spin with short irons began creeping too high.
“During that testing, we heard a few comments that started to give us the indication that maybe we weren't going down the right path,” said Fordie Pitts, Titleist’s Director of Tour Research and Validation. “The prototype felt great. It had good speed and distance, but the spin was creeping up too high in the short irons. In our minds, all it really was doing is moving the product closer to our stock Pro V1x, and it was straying from Left Dash’s DNA.”
Instead of pushing forward, Titleist reset the process—refocusing entirely on what Left Dash players love most: speed, distance, and low spin. That decision ultimately led to the ball that will hit shelves this month.
“We learned from players that the path we went down was not going to be optimal for what they were looking for in the product,” Waddell said. “So we started to zero in on why they love Left Dash. It’s the speed, the distance, the low spin. We completely shifted gears to focus our efforts there, resulting in a faster, longer Pro V1x Left Dash, with spin optimized for this player.”
The new Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash will be available in golf shops worldwide beginning Wednesday, January 21.
For those of us who’ve trusted Left Dash for years—and for players searching for high flight without excess spin—this next generation feels like the most complete version yet.
