The Sooners added their fourth consecutive title in Hawaii with a record 63-under total
The Oklahoma Sooners made history in Hawai’i, capturing their fourth consecutive Ka’anapali Classic title with a breathtaking display of team golf that rewrote the record books.
At the Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course, the Sooners stormed to a 63-under total of 789, setting a new school record and recording the fifth-lowest team score vs. par in NCAA history. The win not only extended Oklahoma’s dominance at this event but also gave head coach Ryan Hybl his 50th career victory, joining an elite group of just 17 Division I coaches to reach the milestone.
Leading the charge was Ryder Cowan, who fired rounds of 65, 62, and 67 to finish 20-under (193), matching the program’s all-time scoring record and clinching his first individual title. Cowan’s composed performance anchored a team that showed no weaknesses.
Jase Summy finished tied for third at 18-under, while Clark Van Gaalen, PJ Maybank III, and Asher Whitaker all placed inside the top 20, underlining Oklahoma’s extraordinary depth.
This victory marks the 16th consecutive semester in which the Sooners have lifted at least one trophy — an unprecedented run in program history. For Hybl and his players, the Ka’anapali Classic has become more than just a tournament — it’s a tradition of excellence, resilience, and consistency that defines the Oklahoma brand of college golf.
