Elite juniors return to The Saticoy Club for the 2025 PING Invitational, where 72 of the world’s best will battle
The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is set to host one of its premier invitationals, The PING Invitational, from October 10-13, 2025, at the beautiful and challenging The Saticoy Club in Somis, California. This prestigious 54-hole, stroke-play event, which features an elite field of 72 top junior golfers, returns to the demanding California course for the second consecutive year.
The tournament is a significant stop on the junior golf calendar, offering substantial performance-based exemption (PBE) status for the winners and a chance for young stars to test their mettle against the nation's best. The field is composed of 36 players each in the Boys and Girls divisions (ages 12-19).
The Course: A True Test of Skill
The Saticoy Club provides a formidable backdrop for this invitational. With a rich history and a reputation for challenging play, the par-72 course will demand precision and control from tee to green.
- Boys Division will play from approximately 7,010 yards, featuring a tough 74.6 course rating and a 138 slope.
- Girls Division will navigate the course at approximately 6,281 yards, with an even higher 77.1 course rating and a 135 slope.
These metrics indicate that while the course is not exceptionally long for the girls, its design requires strategic shot-making, which is reflected in the high ratings. The demanding layout ensured a winning score of 7-under-par (209) in both divisions in 2024.
Champions Set the Bar High
The event's history is studded with names that have gone on to professional stardom, including past champions like Jordan Spieth, Nelly Korda, and Rose Zhang.
Defending Champion Returns
All eyes in the Girls Division will be on defending champion Asterisk Talley (Chowchilla, Calif.), who returns to The Saticoy Club following her victory in 2024 where she finished at 7-under-par (209). Now in the Class of 2027, Talley will face fierce competition as she aims for a consecutive title.
Recent Victors
Though 2024 Boys Champion Jackson Byrd is not in the field, the tournament's history of low-scoring brilliance remains a key talking point. In 2023, Wheaton Ennis won the Boys Division, and Jasmine Koo won the Girls Division when the event was held in Indiana. Before that, Gianna Clemente (Estero, Fla.) claimed the Girls title twice in a row (2021, 2022).

The 2025 field is packed with talent, featuring top-ranked junior golfers from across the U.S. and internationally. The list is comprised of players from the graduating classes of 2026 all the way to 2031, showcasing the depth of junior golf.

The Boys Division is a truly national and international contest, with top players from golf hotbeds like Texas, Florida, and California, alongside international representatives from Canada and Hong Kong.

Tournament Schedule
Players will get their first official look at the course during the practice round on Friday, October 10, featuring a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Competition rounds will follow, with the champion crowned after 54 holes of stroke play (the tournament is a no-cut event).
