Vandenberg finished 4-under and won by one shot to win his second tournament of the new year
We are only 18 days into the year 2025, and Kevin Vandenberg has recorded two wins.
The Pulaski, N.Y. native finished 4-under to win the 2025 Golfweek Senior Player of the Year Classic at ChampionsGate Golf Resort, the International Course, in Davenport, Fla., by one shot.
Vandenberg, the No. 1 ranked player in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings, carded rounds of 68-72-72 to secure the win
"I putted really well in the first round," Vandenberg said. "I didn't really make any long putts, but I made some 10 and 12-footers for Birdie."
Vandenberg added, "(In the final round), I just wanted to shoot even par. I knew the wind would blow, and it would be tough to score."

Vandenberg recorded six birdies and six bogeys in the final round and had a three-shot lead with four holes remaining.
"I putted better than in the second round," Vandenberg said. "Not better than in the first round, but I played really solid."
The 2024 Senior Player of the Year thanks his mini-driver for his hot start to the season.
"I have been hitting my tee shot better," Vandenberg said. "I got a new mini-driver that has really been working well for me, and I have gone to that more often than hitting the regular driver."
Vandenberg added, "I have just been hitting the ball well and keeping it in front of me. It has really worked well to keep the big numbers off the scorecard."
