Kobayashi won the championship by one shot over Rintaro Nakano

Takumi Kobayashi shot an overall 18-under to win the Japan Student Golf Championship.

The championship was held at Oyama Golf Club in Saihaku-gun, Tottori Prefecture. Takumi is a first-year student at Osaka Gakuin University.

Rintaro Nakano, a second-year student at Waseda University, finished one shot behind Kobayashi at 17-under.

Yuta Sugiura, a fourth-year student at Nihon University, who is ranked 1st in the Japan Amateur Golf Ranking, finished in third place and 2 shots behind Nakano at 15-under.

The turning point of the championship was on No. 17. Kobayashi recorded a birdie on this hole, and took a one-shot lead over Nakano.

This was Kobayashi's first appearance in the championship.
