Callaway Presents its Customizable Rogue Drivers

CARLSBAD, CA (March 15, 2018) - The Callaway Rogue Driver, available at retail starting today, is the newest addition to the popular Callaway Customs platform, which allows golfers to create detailed personalization, providing the ultimate in driver customization.
Callaway Customs, which was first offered for the GBB Epic Driver last year, is available for all three models of Rogue Driver: Standard, Sub Zero and Draw. With 2 different zones and 9 color options, there are 81 combinations for golfers to make the Rogue Driver completely their own.

The GBB Epic Driver was the mostly widely sold driver in the United States last year, but Callaway sought to outdo themselves by borrowing key technologies from that driver and reinventing it to add more forgiveness and stability.
The result is the Rogue Driver, which benefits from an enhanced "Jailbreak Effect" and a redesigned variable-thickness face, which combine to promote faster ball speed even on off-center hits.
Callaway's Jailbreak Technology has long been the key to the ability of their drivers to deliver the distance for which they have become known, but the latest redesign has taken the Rogue to another level.
“This is really the next generation of Jailbreak,” said Evan Gibbs, Callaway’s director of research and development for metalwoods. “There are two titanium rods that connect the crown and sole inside the head, and their purpose is to add stiffness to the body and minimize the amount of deflection in the body during impact. This minimizes the amount of energy lost in the body and focuses that energy to the face.”
The Jailbreak rods in the Rogue drivers have an hourglass shape and are each 25 percent lighter. At the same time, an enhanced X-Face architecture thickens and thins strategic areas of the driver face. The combination of these design characteristics works to deliver higher and more consistent ball speeds across the driver face.
The Rogue drivers have a triaxial carbon-composite crown, as did the Epic drivers, but the new crown is lighter, allowing Callaway designers to shift more of the Rogue’s overall weight to the head's perimeter and increase the moment of inertia and forgiveness.
As a final touch, Callaway worked with aerospace company Boeing to redefine the geometry of the leading edge to improve airflow to promote faster head speed.

As mentioned, there are three models of Rogue Driver to choose from: Standard, Sub Zero and Draw.
In the Rogue Sub Zero, two weight screws (a 2-gram in the back and a 14-gram in the front) are located directly behind the leading edge. This configuration created 300 rpm less spin than the standard Rogue, which should help golfers who produce high spin rates.
In the Rogue Draw, a 5-gram external sole weight was shifted from the back-center area of the sole toward the heel. This helps the face close and square up more easily on the downswing, which should help golfers who tend to slice.
