(Sept 27, 2011) -- Stan Williams of Arlington, VA and River Creek Club recorded a one-under par 70 to take the lead in the first round of the Metropolitan Senior Amateur at Laurel Hill Golf Club. Two strokes back are Richard Thomas (72) of Washington Golf and George Mavrikes of Congressional (72). Next in line are Ron Bubes (73), Barry Flaer (74), John Caulfield (74), Peter Jacobi (74), John Hoffman (75) and Donald Meyer (75).
