Williams wins 1st Florida Senior Match Play crown since 2014

Pete Williams outlasted defending champion Owen Joyner to take the title

NAPLES, Fla. (July 16, 2018) – Pete Williams claimed the Florida Senior Amateur Match Play title in a birdie-packed final match against Owen Joyner. Williams, of Juno Beach, Fla., is a past Senior Player of the Year who won the 2014 Senior Amateur Match Play. A year ago, these two men met in the quarterfinals of this tournament. Joyner prevailed in 19 holes, and ultimately went on to win the tournament. It was his second FSGA Championship after winning the Senior Four-Ball in 2015.
