Chris Williams leads after three rounds of the 18th Sahalee Players Championship

SAMAMMISH, WASH. (July 7, 2011) -- Chris Williams leads after three rounds of the 18th Sahalee Players Championship and will attempt to be the second Husky in three years to take medalist honors on Friday. Nick Taylor won the title in 2009. Williams is at 214 (-2) after 54 holes and holds a one stroke advantage heading into Friday's final round. He shot a 1-over 73 in the morning round and followed up with a 1-under 71 in the afternoon. Andrew Putnam and Michael Kim are each at -1 to join Williams as the only golfers under par. Incoming freshman Cheng-Tsung Pan continues to impress and is tied for fifth at even par 216. He shot a 76 in the morning but righted the ship with a 69 in the afternoon. Recent UW grad Tze Huang Choo is at +11 after shooting 76 and 78 on Thursday. He is tied for 33rd. Charlie Hughes is tied for 39th at +13 after a 74 and 80.
