Welcome to the 30th World Amateur

The World Am takes over the Grand Strand with more than 3,000 golfers taking aim at the coveted crown

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Aug. 25, 2013) -- We're less than 24 hours from the start of the 30th annual World Amateur Handicap Championship. Your's truly will be playing in the event again this year and offering daily updates from the event, which takes over the Grand Strand with more than 3,000 golfers taking aim at the coveted crown. Additionally, this year marks the first of what amateurgolf.com hopes is many as the proud sponsor of awards and prizes for low gross players in all five divisions. While the handicap nature of the event makes it a tournament that truly anyone could win, we want to reward the strong play of those scratch golfers in the field. Low gross winners will receive a terrific prize package from amateurgolf.com, including gear and equipment from our sponsors and partners, including Jones Golf, Lamkin Grips and CHAMP Spikes. I'll be updating daily after each round and promise not to let my play skew the scene from Myrtle Beach. For more information about the World Am, view the links to the right and read on!
