Washington State goes seven-under on day three to win Pacific Invitational

Washington State came up with the best round of the day on Saturday morning to capture the invitational title at Stockton Golf & Country Club

STOCKTON, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2014) — While Santa Clara University's Hayden Shieh earned individual honors with his three-round total of 205, Washington State University posted seven-under in Saturday's final round to win by six at the University of Pacific Invitational, held at Stockton Golf & Country Club. The Cougars trailed the University of Denver by a stroke heading into the third and final day, but three under-par rounds on Saturday gave the WSU team the win. Freshman Derek Bayley lead the team both on Saturday and overall, finishing in third place individually and posting four-under to lead the winning team on daddy three. Senior Michael Anderson shot three-under while another freshman, Brian Mogg, completed the team's under-par rounds with one-under. Second-round leaders Denver finished in second place six shots back and were led Norwegian freshman Petter Mikalsen, who finished second individually, one shot behind Shieh.
