Wake Forest holds slight lead at U.S. Collegiate

Freshman Cameron Young, in second place individually, has his Demon Deacons up by a stroke heading to the final round

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Wake Forest will take a slim one-stroke advantage into the final round of the U.S. Collegiate Golf Tournament, being held at the Lakeside Course at the Golf Club of Georgia. Led by true freshman Cameron Young, a native of New York, the Demon Deacons are at 7-under par through 36 holes with Auburn just a stroke back, and Florida State trailing by just three. Auburn is being led by junior Will Long, who 8-under par 136 is one shot ahead of Young in the individual race. Young eagled the first hole of the day while Long made five birdies throughout his round. First round leaders Florida State shot 2-over in the second round to fall out of the lead, and are being led by their juniors Jack Maguire and Cristobal Del Solar, who are tied for fifth place and eighth place, respectively.
