The Kahkwa Club, designed by Donald Ross was opened in 1917 and plays as a 6,125 yard par-72 (36- 36).
In the past The Kahkwa Club has hosted many marquee events including the 1971 U.S. Women's Open and the 2004 U.S. Women’s Amateur.
Defending U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur champion Lauren Greenlief will be headlining the field when play begins on Saturday. Last year Greenlief defeated Margaret Shirley 2&1 in the final to become the youngest champion in tournament history.
“It’s the coolest thing ever," Greenlief told the USGA following her victory. "I think every golfer, especially every amateur golfer, really dreams of being a USGA champion, because it’s really the pinnacle of amateur golf.
