Tight Race at 3M Augusta Invitational on tap for Sunday

Host Augusta with a slim lead in 3M Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, GA (April 2, 2016)--Rain washed out the Friday practice round but Augusta (558) playing on their home turf took advantage of playing a soggy but familiar course. They will carry a three-stroke lead into the final day of the 3M Augusta Invitational over newly minted No. 1 Texas and now No. 2 Illinois. Texas will be looking to come from behind and pick up their fifth win in their last six events. Senior Robin Petersson (-7) is pacing Augusta so far sitting in a tie for second. Petersson fired scores 68-69 during Saturday's 36-holes of play at the Forest Hills Golf Club. The Jaguars also received superb play from sophomore Broc Everett (T6) who is 6-under-par thus far and senior Maverick Antcliff (-2) currently in T16. Leading the medalist chase once more is Texas Longhorn junior Beau Hossler (-8). With four wins already this season Hossler will be looking to pick up another victory on Sunday. On Saturday Hossler posted back-to-back 68's to gain his one-stroke advantage. However, Sunday's final round will not be easy as four players are within a stroke of Hossler. Another six are just three back.
