Naples, FL (April 13, 2012) -- Curtis Thompson, a freshman at LSU, fired a 5-under 67 to lead the 17th Terra Cotta Invitational after the first day's play. Beginning his round on the 10th hole, Thompson birdied 11, 14 and 16 then birdied 2 and 7 on the front finishing with 5 birdies and no bogies. Jim Liu, from Smithtown, NY, the 2010 US Junior Amateur Champion and Danny Guise, from Greenwich, CT, trail by one shot after shooting 68's in perfect weather conditions
