Iowa senior Steven Ihm closes his wire-to-wire victory over a loaded field in one of the year's top events

JOHNSTOWN, Penn. (June 16, 2013) -- Steven Ihm held on to win the Sunnehanna Amateur on Sunday as the leaderboard shifted all around him. Ihm, a senior at the University of Iowa, shot a final-round 67 at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa., to win the prestigious amateur event.

Ihm, of Peosta, Iowa, had a one-shot lead on Rodolfo Cazaubon, a recent North Texas grad, at the beginning of the day. Cazaubon had charged up the leaderboard in Round 3 with a 6-under 63. He posted 73 on Sunday to finish T-6.

Ihm turned in 4-under 31 on Sunday, then made three bogeys and two birdies on the back for his 67. He finished at 8-under 272.

Alabama senior Cory Whitsett was the next closest player. Whitsett also shot a final-round 67 to climb from T-3 to solo second. Rick Lamb, a recent Tennessee grad, and Mike Miller shared third at 3 under.

The round of the day on Sunday belonged to South Carolina sophomore Matthew NeSmith, who shot 5-under 65 to climb from T-20 to T- 6.
