Playing on its own Stanford Golf Course, a par 70, Stanford put up a second consecutive 1-under 279 on Friday. Henry Shimp and Brandon Wu were the low Cardinal scorers, with rounds of 68 and 69, respectively.
Stanford started the day trailing Washington by a shot, but handily outpaced the Huskies by 12 shots.
"Excited about our chances tomorrow," said Stanford head coach Conrad Ray. "A great opportunity to build on our spring campaign and gain experience against high quality teams. The goal is stay aggressive and play how we know we can. The results will take care of themselves."
USC is the next-closest team with a 5-over total. The Trojans matched Stanford’s 1-under 279 on Friday.
Cal is another shot behind at 6 over followed by Oklahoma in fourth and Washington in fifth.
USC’s Kaito Onishi is the individual leader at 5-under 135. His second-round 66 bumped him six spots up the leaderboard. Cal’s Collin Morikawa is right behind him at 3 under.
