ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida — The inaugural St. Augustine Amateur, launched in 2004, was named the Men’s Golf Tournament of the Year by the editors of Golf News.

Fred Seely, Editorial Director of Golf News, wrote: “We’ve always felt the area could support an event that would draw a national field, but until this year, no one stepped up to the table.
