Matt Haines of England is Medalist, posting rounds of 66-72=138 in stroke play qualifying

CADIZ, Spain (March 4, 2010) -- Matt Haines of England paced qualifiers at the Spanish International Amateur at the La Canada Golf Club, posting 4-under 138 over two days.

Haines, currently ranked No. 14 in the Golfweek/amateurgolf.com World Rankings, finished T5 in the Master of the Amateurs in 2009 and won the 2008 Lytham Trophy. To view his profile, click here.

Emilio Cuartero Blanco of Spain, Kris Nicol of Scotland, and Julien Brun of France tied for second at 2-under 140.

Defending Champion Reinier Saxton is not in the field; he is now a professional.
