Southeastern Am: Shad Tuten holds lead

Shad Tuten fired a third-round 66 and will carry a one-shot lead into the final round

COLUMBUS, Ga. (June 13, 2014) -- Shad Tuten fired a third-round 66 and will carry a one-shot lead into the final round at the 85th Southeastern Amateur at the Country Club of Columbus. Tuten, who plays at Armstrong, shot 65-71 in Rounds 1 and 2 and holds that one-shot advantage over Clemson's Cody Proveaux and John Jonas. Proveaux fired a 66, too, in Friday's play. It was the second straight 5-under 66 for the rising Clemson golfer. Jonas, who transferred to the College of Charleston from LSU, has cards of 69-67-67. Overnight leader Grant Hirschman fell to fourth place. He went 69-66 over the first two days of play and shot 2-under 69 on Friday, unable to keep up with the torrid paces of Tuten and Proveaux. The fourth and final round of the 85th Southeastern Amateur tees off Saturday morning from Columbus. For a full look at the third-round leaderboard, follow the results link below.
