Six-time champion Woulfe up two at Dixie Senior Amateur

The winningest golfer in Dixie Senior Amateur history is two ahead after an opening-round 72 at TPC Eagle Trace

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — The winningest golfer in Dixie Senior Amateur history is two ahead after an opening-round 72 at TPC Eagle Trace. Rick Woulfe, a six-time winner of the tournament, posted even-par on Tuesday to put himself in nice position to win the event for the first time since 2010. Woulfe won his first title in 2000, the fourth year of the tournament, then won back-to-back between 2004 and 2005 before becoming a three-peat winner from 2008 to 2010. A three-way tie for second place at 74 includes Peter Van Ingen, Mark Weston, and Scott Hurley, while Christopher Chee and Steve Humphrey are tied for fifth at 75. Two-time defending champion Doug Hanzel, who just recently lost in a playoff the Crane Cup Senior to Jack Hall, is not in this year's field. The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Thursday.
