SF City: Ban, Reinsberg reach final match

Shintaro Ban knocked off No. 4 Ryan Knop in Saturday's semifinals while Rick Reinsberg beat Ryan Wilson

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 8, 2014) -- Shintaro Ban just keeps rolling. The UNLV commit won yet again to continue his march towards the championship match at the 2014 San Francisco City Championship at Presidio Golf Course. Ban, who knocked off defending champion and top seed Will Brueckner in early match-play action, beat No. 4 seed Ryan Knop in Saturday's semifinal at Presidio Golf Course. Ban, seeded 32nd, won 2-up over Knop to clinch a spot in Sunday's championship match where he'll face Rick Reinsberg, a 5-and-4 winner over Ryan Wilson, another near-Cinderella story out of the No. 47 seed. Ban and Reinsberg tee off at 8:20 a.m. for the scheduled 36-hole finale. Last weekend, Ban beat Ryan Gronlund in Sunday's quarterfinals and will move to the semifinals. Reinsberg had defeated Justin Suh, the No. 3 seed -- last weekend's lowest remaining seed -- to advance. Amateurgolf.com will have complete coverage of the final match.
