Sean Walsh and Kansas Earn Wins at Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate

The University of Kansas men's golf team picked up their 3rd win of the season while Gonzaga's Sean Walsh adds his second of the season

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- Kansas added it's third win of the 2015-2016 season by defeating a strong field at the Wyoming Desert Classic hosted by Classic Club Golf Course. Kansas had three players inside the top 25 including freshman Charlie Hiller who finished in a tie for 3rd at 4-under par and sophomore Daniel Hudson who tied 5th at 3-under. The Jayhawks ended the tournament a combined 2-over par which was three clear of Colorado and four shots clear of Texas Tech. "It was a great team victory and the guys played with a lot of mental toughness today," Kansas head coach Jamie Bermel to KU Athletics. "We didn't get off to a very good start, but they battled until the end. We beat some good teams and did it from start to finish." Gonzaga senior Sean Walsh took the individual title with rounds of 68, 71, and 70 for a 7-under total and a two-shot win over TCU's Chelso Barret. It was Walsh's 2nd win of the season, the first coming at the Saint Mary's Invitational last September.
