LIMA, Peru — With his second consecutive round
of 70, reigning U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Scott
Harvey, of Greensboro, N.C., separated himself
by a stroke heading into the final round at the
South American Amateur.
Having been tied after Friday's second round
with Brazilian Andre Tourinho at eight-under,
Harvey's two-under round on Saturday allowed
him to emerge back into the lead, which he held
by one after the first round. Tourinho, a former
Tulsa University golfer, shot 73 in the third
round and now sits three shots back of Harvey.

No. 3 ranked amateur in the world, Ashley
Chesters of England, continues his climb up the
leaderboard after an opening-round 74. Rounds
of 68 and 69 since have him five back in a tie
for fifth place with Jack Davidson of Wales.
Mike McCoy, after jumping into the top-five on
Friday with a 66, shot 76 on Saturday to fall into
a tie for 14th.
