San Diego State, USD's Forrest, lead Lamkin San Diego Classic

Playing their home course, San Diego State leads by 3 over TCU

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 11, 2013) -- On a perfect San Diego day (with apologies to the Midwest and Northeast) San Diego State posted 2-under par 574 as a team to lead the Lamkin San Diego Classic by three over TCU heading into Tuesday's final 18-hole round. The host course, San Diego Country Club, is known as the home course of golf legends Gene Littler and Billy Casper. With treacherously fast and sloped greens, it's no surprise that Casper wound up being one of the best putters in the game. Three Aztec players are in the top-9: junior college transfer Austin Kaiser (3-under); sophomore Xander Schauffele (2-under); and senior Tom Berry (even par). University of San Diego player Grant Forrest (of Scotland) has the individual lead at 6-under after posting rounds of 70-68. San Diego State is looking for its first win of the season.
