GOLETA, CALIF (March 27, 2011) -- Johnny Ruiz, the high school junior from Camarillo, did not falter after an opening round 67 at the Goleta City Championship. In fact, he just backed it up with a second 67 and won the tournament by a whopping 8 shots and finsihed the event at 8-under par (67-67--134).
Nick Thomas from Chaminade H.S. took second place at even par (74-68--142).
Brett Silvernail from Ventura College was third at 1-over par (70-73--143).
