Quarterfinals set at San Francisco City

Shintaro Ban and Justin Suh continued their strong runs and will play in Sunday's Round of 8 at Presidio

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 1, 2014) -- Shintaro Ban continued his impressive run at the 2014 San Francisco City Championship with a win over Henry Cassriel in the Round of 16. Ban, a recent UNLV commit, made waves last weekend during the event's first weekend of match play with a pair of victories, including an upset over defending champion and top seed Will Brueckner at Presidio Golf COurse. Ban's upset set the tone for a day that included many last Sunday in the Round of 32. Ban moves onto the quarterfinals, where he'll face No. 55 seeded Ryan Gronlund. Gronlund knocked off Jacob Solomon on Saturday after beating Zach Smith and Jeff Carney last week. No. 4 seed Ryan Knop has also advanced to Sunday's quarterfinal round. He beat No. 20 Tanner Hughes and will now take on No. 12 Miguel Delgado. Delgado survived his match with upstar Walker Huddy, the No. 60 seed. On the other side of the bracket, Ryan Wilson, the No. 47 seed is among those that moved on Saturday. Wilson knocked off Jonathan De Los Reyes, a recent winner on the amateurgolf.com Tour, 1-up. He'll now face No. 26 Ian Coffman Sunday. No. 3 Justin Suh remains the lowest seed remaining in the bracket. He's onto the quarterfinals with a 2-up victory over Sunny Yan and will face No. 27 Rick Reinsberg. For a complete look at the championship bracket, follow the links below.
