PREVIEW: Amateurs to tee it up at the ANNIKA

Louise Rydqvist and Rachel Kuehn will play in the ANNIKA, a top LPGA Tour event this week.

As the top stars on the LPGA Tour descend on Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla., two amateurs will be joining them.

Rachel Kuehn and Louise Rydqvist are in the field this week, teeing it up with the best in the world and getting the opportunity to test their game against the pros.

Rachel Kuehn is a graduate student at Wake Forest University and most recently won the 2023 East Lake Cup

She is a 2023 NCAA Women’s Golf National Champion, 2023 ACC Women’s Golfer of the Year, two-time WGCA First Team All-American, and three-time All-ACC honoree

This is her third LPGA start this season, with previous starts at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give and The Amundi Evian Championship

Louise Rydqvist is the 2023 ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M champion, earning her a spot in the field

She is a junior at the University of South Carolina and was named to the 2022 SEC All-Freshman Team and Second Team All-SEC

Rydqvist shot a career-best 54-hole score of 8-under with rounds of 66-72-70. In the final round, she shot 2-under 70 and recorded three birdies and an eagle.

Rydqvist is the second Gamecock to win the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and the first since All-American Justine Dreher in 2014.
