Player Profile: Josh Anderson, SCGA Player of the year

Josh Anderson broke on to the golf scene in a big way in 2007, winning the California State Amateur and taking home the Southern California Player of the Year title

Few golfers of the caliber of Josh Anderson would be overlooked in their prep career, but with a high school teammate like Walker Cupper Rickie Fowler, Anderson had to work harder than others to be noticed. He gained that recognition in a big way when he fought through a premier field at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club to win the 2007 California State Amateur Championship. Anderson followed that up with a third-place finish at the SCGA Amateur at the Victoria Club, then made match play at the U.S. Amateur, held at the Olympic Club. Anderson currently plays golf for Pepperdine.
