Few golfers of the caliber of Josh Anderson would be overlooked in their prep career, but with a high school teammate like Walker Cupper Rickie Fowler, Anderson had to work harder than others to be noticed.
He gained that recognition in a big way when he fought through a premier field at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club to win the 2007 California State Amateur Championship.
Anderson followed that up with a third-place finish at the SCGA Amateur at the Victoria Club, then made match play at the U.S. Amateur, held at the Olympic Club.
Anderson currently plays golf for Pepperdine.
